Today in honor of the March on Washington’s 50th anniversary I cooked a couple of appropriate recipes on the television program “Mass Appeal.” I post the videos below.
You may see the full recipes elsewhere on this very blog. I originally made the black-eyed peas to remember the television program “Amos and Andy.”
And the pound cake, which may be made with blueberries as well as peaches, appears here.
Happy viewing!

Wow; when do you get your own show?! or at least a regular segment on Mass Appeal.
and I miss Pekarski’s; I used to stop by on the way back from dropping L at first grade.
It IS wonderful to have a good local smokehouse, but surely there’s something near you in Tennessee, Tut-tut. I got wonderful smoked ham when I lived there. As for my fame, well, they ARE inviting me back at least once a month until I go south for the winter! Thank you for the vote of confidence.
Tinky – great post, video and CAKE. Cake is my favorite course as you know. I can see a whole series of ‘social justice’ food posts perhaps even on Blog Action Day, Oct. 15.
Great idea about the social-justice posts. And of course about cake!
Loved your videos!
I love you for loving them!
Great job, Tinky! Look forward to seeing you later in the fall. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching, Carla!
Wow! You are made for this, tinky! I want more!! Fun and baking- my two favorite things.
You’re no slouch in the fun department yourself, Susan. Thank you!
